uh, hey guys, um, actually today I don't I don't even really know why i'm here right now. but uh  I kept getting messages from Jesse telling me to come and talk to you guys. So I was supposed to come last year.

大家好，事實上，我也不知道今天為什么會站在這里，但是Jesse一直給我發(fā)信息來跟你們談一談。

So I'm actually in New York right now doing a music performance tonight. So I decided to take some time and speak with you guys.

我本來應該去年就來的我來紐約本來是因為今晚要做一個音樂演出，所以我決定來花些時間跟你們談一談。

 I don't have a PowerPoint presentation. I think a few things I wanted to speak to you guys about is the importance of you know the the exprience of what I've had in working in the Chinese market.

我沒有準備幻燈片，我主要想告訴你們的是，我通過在中國市場中工作所獲得的一些寶貴的經(jīng)驗。

I can see that most of us here are Asian hopefully most of us are Chinese I think. That's what  Jesse told me , so you know   I think one commen mistake that a lot of people do is saying "It's good for China,it's good for China." 

我能看出大部分在座的都是亞洲人，希望你們大部分都是中國人，我認為很多人都犯了同一個錯誤，他們總說：“這個東西對于中國來說是好的?！?/p>

 So people watch a movie that's a Chinese and they say "Oh, that was a good movie for a Chinese movie." and for me that doesn't cut, it that doesn't make sense to me, do you understand?

人們看了一個中國電影，會說“ 這部電影在中國電影里面算是好電影了。” 但是于我而言，這說明不了什么，這沒有任何意義。

 A movie is a movie, it shouldn't be : "oh , becasue it's a Chinese movie there's lower standards." so what I think is the most important, especially for all of us you know. we're we're lucky enough to have a you  know  a  Western education or a western upbringing is to understand that the level of quality of work does not differ in different countries.

電影就是電影，并不是說這是一部中國電影，所以它就有較低的評分標準。我認為很重要的就是，特別是對我們這些 能夠有機會受到西方教育或培養(yǎng)的幸運的人來說，很重要的就是明白，工作的質(zhì)量標準不應因在不同的國家而產(chǎn)生改變。

Whenever I do something I don't think about I'm doing this for China, so what is good for China? I believe everything that I do  even if it's a Chinese song.  I try to think of it as if my friends in America or a person that worked at a radio station they lisiten to my song.What would they think this song

我在做事的時候不會去考慮“這件事是面向中國市場做的，對于中國來說什么是好的呢？”我做每件事情，甚至是制作中國的歌曲時，我都會考慮，如果我在美國的朋友，或者是在電臺工作過的人來聽這首歌，會有什么樣的反應。

now I'm not thinking I'm not saying that the Chinese market is unimportant. It's just that we can not say to ourselves that "Okay, so I want to work in China and these are the guidelines or the status of what is good." because the problem with that is that a lot of us may be already thinking everyone's like China's the next market， China's the next superpower. China is this and China is that,

我并不是要否定中國市場的重要性，而是我們不能對自己說：“我想在中國工作，所以對我來說優(yōu)秀的標準是XXX.” 因為這樣做的問題在于，幾乎所有人都認為：中國是下一個巨大的市場，中國是下一個超級大國。

okay, there's a lot of money to be made there, okay, sure, but you can not lose the integrity of what you do and what you represent for money .

在中國可以掙到很多錢等等，這本身沒有問題，但是你不能為了金錢而失去你做人和做事的本質(zhì)。

and at the same time, if China is going to become the next superpower or the next place to make business happen, then we can not be working at a barometer of saying this is good for China.

同時，如果中國將會成為下一個超級大國或下一個巨大市場的話，那么我們就不能在一個 “在中國市場這么做已經(jīng)算是優(yōu)秀了” 的標準下工作。

This everything has to be good on an international level.  and only then will we be able to be standing proud and say ："this is Chinese made."

所有的工作在國際標準下也都必須是優(yōu)秀的才行，只有這樣，我們才能驕傲的說出：“這是在中國制造的?！?/p>

”The reason why I'm saying this is because when I started CLOT in I don't even remember man 15 years ago. I remember something very very very very alarming to me is： we're made in China and everyone's like: "Oh, my god,that's horrible."  I said: "what" do you mean, why is made in China bad?" like "oh, all products are getting recalled in America" and there's baby products have LED in them" or "bla bla bla bla bla."

我提到這個問題是因為 我十五年前創(chuàng)立CLOT的時候，有一件對我來說非常非常有警示作用的事情，就是：我說：“我們是在中國制造的?！?然后其他人就說：“天哪，太可怕了?！?我就說：“你為什么這樣說，為什么中國制造的就是不好的？”他們會說“中國出口美國的很多商品都被召回了。中國制造的嬰兒產(chǎn)品里含有LED等等等等?！?/p>

so everything that I've been doing ,I've been trying to be made in China creatively, designed in China, everything is from a Chinese perspective.

所以我做每件事情的時候，我都嘗試讓這件事情不僅是中國制造，還要是中國創(chuàng)造，一切的出發(fā)點都是中國。

ask me "Hey, what are you?" I'm actually born in Canada ,but I tell people I‘m Chinese look at me, I mean. So I say I'm born in Canada ,but I'm Chinese.

別人問我“你是哪里人？” 我事實上是在加拿大出生的，但我告訴人們我是中國人。因為你可以看我的長相， 你沒法否認我是中國人這個事實。所以我雖然在加拿大出生，但我是中國人。

so when people think I say made in China or this work we're based in China and it gives them a bad stigmatism.

由于人們聽到“中國制造” 或者是“起源于中國”的品牌時， 都會認為它不那么光彩。

I have to be very aware of everything that I  do and everything that I say so that if someone from an international level is looking at the product that we're making or looking at the creative designs or the the the ideas that were coming out of. We can be pround to say that yeah this is made in China.

所以我必須特別注意我說的每句話和我做的每件事。這樣的話，如果有人以國際的標準來審視我們產(chǎn)品的質(zhì)量，創(chuàng)意設計或者是理念的時候，我們可以很驕傲的說：“這就是中國制造的?！?/p>
