UK rail passengers face yet more disruption to their train journeys this week. Three consecutive days — 18, 19 and 20 August — will be affected by strikes on the railway network.

Britain's workers are striking in vast numbers as decades-high inflation erodes the value of wages at a record pace. More than 45,000 rail workers went on strike on Thursday, reducing UK train services to only 20 percent.
