I have no evidence to show when meditation became a PE practice and when It came to be closely connected with buddha. But I'm sure meditation has been found early longer before. In ancient Greek philosophers began to practice meditation for their thoughts. People in more ancient times may take it for their health both in body and mind. An emperor even left us a great book ?titled Meditation in which he exerted his brilliant talent to produce the human beings a piece of time-honored work. According to history, in fact, meditation was employed to think about love from God. Great saints like Augustine, Calvin etc employed ?meditation before or after their prayers. Because it gives a person much joy and peace when they meditate upon God's love. Meditation, in fact, is a state of mind in which people stay peaceful and calm before God's love. In this state, they forget themselves, thinking only about God's love. Thus their hearts and minds are filled with love, peace and rejoice. I have a friend in my WeChat Moments who meditates for 10 minutes every day. After the meditation he updated himself and became a new one. Then some new ideas or thoughts was originated in his mind and expressed it in his moments. So in my opinion, meditation can play a very important part in our lives. And we can make full use of meditation to produce more in our lives. Of course, the best meditation is to meditate upon God's love. Love can teach us everything. Love teaches us to forgive. Love teaches us to love. Love teaches us to embrace life. But if you want to understand love, I mean, understand real love, of course, you should meditate upon God's love, because God's love is the source of love. |
