上周我們學(xué)習(xí)了表達“不知道”的一些句型。除了這些常見的句型，英文中還有一些短小的句子可以表達“我不知道”的意思。

以下這一句在口語中非常常用，字面意思是“（它）打敗我了”，也就是“我被難住了”，引申為“我不知道”。

我不知道。

—   What's the largest river in the world?
世界上最大的河流是什么？

—   Beats me.
我不知道。

—   How long has this milk been in the fridge?
這牛奶在冰箱放了多久了？

—   Beats me. Check the expiration date.
我不知道。查看一下保持期。

另外有一句與此類似的說法：

Search me.
我不知道。

—   What time does Mary's flight get in?
瑪麗的航班什么時候到？

—   Search me.
我不知道。

以下兩句話也表達“不知道”的意思，但通常帶有不耐煩的情緒，有“我怎么會知道？”“你問錯人了！”的意思。

How should I know?

我怎么會知道？

—   Who left the room in such a mess?
誰把房間弄這么亂的？

—   How should I know? I’ve only just come home.
我怎么會知道？我剛回到家。

Don’t ask me.

別問我。

—   What time did she say we would get a raise?

如果別人問到的事是你認為沒人會知道的，你可以說：

Who knows?

誰知道呢？

—   Will they ever find the missing aircraft?

誰都不知道。

—   Who will win the next game?

如果你認為你所知與對方差不多少，或者和對方一樣不太清楚，可以說：

Your guess is as good as mine
我和你一樣不知道。

—   Do you think we will be able to book the restaurant for Friday?
你認為我們能訂得到周五飯店的位嗎？

—   Your guess is as good as mine.
我和你一樣不知道。

如果某事你覺得可能是真的，但你并不了解，也可以說：

Not as far as I know.

我不知道。

—   Has Alan left the company? I haven’t seen him for ages.
阿蘭離開公司了嗎？我好久沒看到他了。

—   Not as far as I know, but I haven’t seen him recently either.
我就不知道，但我也好久沒看見他了。
