Harriet Nicholas (1793-1850) was the niece of Sir

Thomas frankland, an mp, naval officer and slave trader.

Her father is Robert Nicholas, mp for cricklade, Wiltshire,and the fourth daughter of his wife (charlotte frankland).

She was cheerful, confident, and well-educated. In 1816,she married vice admiral Henry diodosius brown collier,who had served on the ship falmouth with 20 cannonsand had a distinguished naval career.
