過去將來時

主要形式：should/would + 動詞原形

注：should一般用于第一人稱，would一般用于第二，第三人稱

如：

（1）He promised that he would pay me a lot if I helped him with the project.

他答應付給我許多錢，如果我?guī)椭隳莻€項目。

（2）Every time when he was free ,he would sit down and read some books

每次他只要有空，他就會坐下來看書

二，過去將來時的用法

【1】 表示從過去某一時間來看將要發(fā)生的動作或存在的狀態(tài)，一般用于主句為過去時的賓語從句中。如：

（1） He said he would come here next Friday.

他說他下周五會來這

（2） I knew that he would help us when we were in trouble.

我知道當我們遇到麻煩時他會幫我們。

【2】 表示過去的動作習慣或傾向：

例：

（1）The old man would sit on a bench in the quite park for hours without doing anything.

那個老人會靜靜地坐在公園的長椅上什么也不做。

（2） When I worked on that farm, I would get up at 5 am.

當我在農場工作時我需要5點起床。

【3】 用于虛擬語氣中：

（1） If I were you, I would not do that.

如果我是你，我不會那樣做。

（2） If he were here, he would show us how to do it.

如果他在這他會告訴我們怎么做。

三，過去將來時的其他形式

【1】was / were going to + 動詞原形。如：

注意：表示純粹的將來時用would或should，表示打算或主觀認為的事情用was或were going to+(動詞原形)

（1）She told me she would be 18 the next month.

她告訴我她下個月就18歲了

（2）She said that I was going to be sent to meet her at the railway station.

她說我將要去火車站見她。

【2】was / were to + 動詞原形。如：

（1）The building was to be completed next month.

這棟建筑下月即將竣工。

（2） Li Lei was to arrive soon.

李雷不久將到這里

【3】 was / were about to + 動詞原形。如：

（1） We were about to leave there when it began to rain heavily and suddenly.

我們即將離開時，突然下起瓢潑大雨。

（2） He was about to have lunch when the bell rang.

鈴響時，他正準備吃午飯。
