Yes, Nike.
I was called for an interview atNike for part time job in Germany. Interview went great.
They told me that on joining Iwould get Nike sportswear set and shoes. I will also get flat 30% discount instore and 45% online.
Of course, I was super excited!!
They asked me to come for a trialday on Saturday, the most busy day at the store as everything is closed onSunday in Germany.
I did not mind. They obviouslyneed extra hands on busy day.
So, I did 8 hours shift on thebusiest day from 10 am to 6 pm with only 15 minutes break. Hiring manager cameto me 3–4 times to make sure everything is fine.
In the middle of the day, hetells me that everything is going great and he thinks I am doing a great job.So they had absolutely no complaints about me.
After to 4–5 hours, I am dyingfor this day to end but I keep on working with utmost energy.
It 6 pm in the clock. Storemanager thanks me and tells me that he will get back to me on Monday.
As it was a rush hour I did notask anything further. And he suddenly tells me that they don’t pay for trialday.
Dude, are you f*****g kidding me?
In Germany, you are supposed toget paid even for trial day. Especially when it is as long as 8 hours.
Still I somehow keep my calm andconsole myself thinking they are going to give me sportswear set and shoes onjoining, that’s definitely worth 100 euros!!
I come home and keep my calm for7 days.
Nobody calls me back.
After two weeks I write an Emailto the hiring manager asking their feedback and if they have any news for me.
Nobody cared to reply.
They never replied.
………
I would never buyanything from the brand which lacks courtesy to inform their decision
and
is cheap enoughto get their work done for free from students who are trying to make theirliving.

There is a pizza chain here in Canada who became famous fortheir “30 minutes” or its free: Pizza Pizza.
Let’s be clear - their pizza,on a good day, is mediocre at best; but every once and awhile - very rarely -they come out with an exotic pizza topping combination that just works. So onenight, about 15 years ago, I figured I’d order pizza from them.
They gave me the usual timeguarantee - told me when to expect my pizza, and if not there by then, it wouldbe free.
30 minutes pass - no pizza.
Now, I’m not a petty man andI’m not looking to score a free pizza - so I give the driver another 5 minutes.
Nothing.
I call Pizza Pizza again andinquire about the status of delivery and inform them that the pizza has not yetarrived. They said that the driver was outside my house trying to get a hold ofme.
I walk outside - no one isthere. I’m angry now that they are lying to me, and I told them I’m not payingfor the pizza.
As soon as I complete thatstatement, the driver speeds around the corner and delivers the pizza - itlooks like this:
I didnt pay for it. And I have not bought a single thing fromthat chain in 15 years.
Edit: I did,initially, accept the pizza and when I got inside - that’s what it looked like.Pizza pizza told me I had to pay for it, and that they are sending the driverback.
We didn’t eat it. I shouldhave been more clear. Driver had to absorb the cost of the pizza - normally, Iwouldn’t let that happen, but he lied.
I did keep the garlic breadand soft drinks though :)

Walgreens ran this customer rewards program in which youaccumulated points and you could, whenever you felt like it, redeem thosepoints for discounts from products.
Many of their promotionsincluded bonus points. “+1000 pts if you buy this 12 pack of Coke!”
It was a basic rewardsprogram. The points translate to dollars. You get it.
So I have one of these storesright by my house. I stop there frequently.
I kept savings these pointsup. I’d saved them up for over 4 years. I had close to $100 in my account. Tobe used whenever on products at their store.
I stopped in to pick up somedrinks/snacks on the way home.
The lady says, “Would youlike to use any of your balance rewards?”
I say, “How much do I haveright now?” (I always checked. I was enjoying stacking them up.)
She says, “You have $21.”
Record stop.
“Hold up, I had a lot morethan that in there. I’ve been saving for years?”
She says, “Yes they recentlychanged the policy. Only your most recent 12 months can count towards thepurchase.”
I’m pissed off.
I say, “Well - let’s put the$21 towards this purchase.”
She says, “You can only use$5 for each purchase.”

I put the $5 towards thepurchase.
I haven’t fully cut Walgreensoff but I am in the process of cutting them off. I spend about 80% less therenow.
Just as a matter of principle— I’ll make sure their competitor across the street gets multiples of the $79that they took with the cheap policy change.
I hate shady businesstactics.
Lesson: Any time you getpoints with a store — use them quickly.

Yes - Air Asia!
This was my most awaited trip to India from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While Iwouldve loved to fly a Malaysia Airlines anytime,i chose Air Asia because ofits availability.
I was at the airport at 5ampost the security. I've woken up by 1am and was at the airport by 3am. Its a2.30 hrs flight back home to Chennai, India hence i was holding my sleep forthe flight.
Then came the announcement byAirAsia crew that there was a delay stating there was bad weather conditions inChennai, India. The crew was convincing us there is no way the flight can betaken since weather conditions are severe depression and thunderstorms in thedestination.
So we waited : For an hour..Two.. Three.. Four..! At this point many passengers lost their cool and againchecked the status - same reason on bad weather conditions given by the crew.By now it was morning in India and I called home only to know its bright andshiny in my city :) We checked in all weather forecast channels from BBC tolocal channels, it confirmed there was no concern on weather.
It was past 12pm now -remember I reached airport by 3am! We were not allowed to go beyond a point inKLIA airport, hence no access to decent food. What looked like a perfectboarding place few hours ago started looking like a flood rescue camp -Children were crying and wailing.. Elderly people were sleeping on the chairsand floor. Inspite of this the crew maintained they couldn't take the flightbecause of bad weather until people started shouting back at them saying we arelocalities of Chennai and we know the sun is up and shining.
Finally, the boarding startedaround 4pm or so. Everyone were tired, hungry, sleepy.. The passengers lookeddesperate to reach home and pushing people to get in the line. All the whileAir Asia dint move its arse to support its passenger's by arranging some basicslike food or water. Forget the adults.. heck nothing was given even tochildren.

這是2011年——8年過去了,我正在履行對自己的承諾!
