“緣分”英語怎么說？

＃1. Fate

• Fate (名詞): 命運、緣分

Fate brings people together no matter how far apart they maybe: 有緣千里來相會

It was fate that we met: 我們遇見，真的是緣分

• Fateful (形容詞)

On that fateful day, you walked into my life: 命運的安排，那一天你走入了我的生活

On that fateful day, I received a special phone call: 命運的安排，我收到了一個特別的電話

＊Fate這個詞，可以用來形容友情、愛情、際遇等各種范疇＊

＃2. Destiny

• Destiny (名詞): 命運、緣分

• Destined (形容詞)

Destiny和fate的意思很像。但是用法上有些區(qū)別：

• My fate is in your hands: 我的命運掌握在你手上 （判決、審判）

• You're my destiny: 你是我命中注定的人 （浪漫）

• This is my destiny: 這注定是我的命運 （人生、事業(yè)）

＃3. Serendipity

• Serendipity (名詞): 緣分，很多偶然、偶遇組成的緣分

• Serendipitous (形容詞)

這兩個詞有點難讀。大家仔細聽Adam讀幾遍：

Serendipity: /s?r?n'd?p?ti/

Serendipitous: /s?r?n'd?p?t?s/

Serendipity這個詞更強調(diào)偶然性：

If you keep running into the same person in different places: 如果你一直在不同地方巧遇一個人，可以說：

It's so serendipitous! 我們真有緣、真巧！

這個用法不局限于浪漫的偶遇。

Serendipity was also the name of a romantic comedy:  多年前的一部浪漫喜劇，就叫“緣分天注定”

It's also the name of a diner in New York famous for its ice cream sundae and banana split: 紐約有一家著名的小餐館也叫Serendipity，冰淇淋圣代和香蕉船特別有名

這部電影還在同名飯店取景呢！

Jenny說幾次去紐約，都想去這家飯店，可惜一直沒緣分。

沒緣分去一個地方，英語怎么說？

You wouldn't use any of the words above: 不會用到上面說的這些詞

The most common and natural expression is:  最常用、最自然的表達方法是

I didn't have the chance to go.

很口語吧！

但也可以用更抽象、浪漫的說法：

• It wasn't in the stars

• It wasn't in the cards

#4. Stars and the universe

英語也常用到宇宙、天象來描述緣分：

• It was in the stars/it was written in the stars: 有緣、上天的安排

• When the stars are lined up/when the stars align: 同上

• The universe is trying to tell you something: 宇宙在給你釋放信息

#5. Karma

這個來自佛教的詞也在英語里廣泛使用：

Karma: 因緣、因果

還有一個更直觀的表達：

What goes around comes around

不同場景的緣分

Love: 愛人間的緣分

• We're destined to be together: 命中注定我們要在一起

• It's fate: 這是命運的安排

Friendship: 朋友間的緣分

朋友間的緣份，不太用到上述說的fate, destiny這些詞；

而是非?？谡Z的：

• We really clicked: 我們特別有緣、一見如故

• We hit it off right away: 同上

• We became quick friends: 同上

Things: 和東西、物件的緣分

我們平時買東西，大到房子，小到手表，好像也愛用緣分表達。英語可以說：

• It's meant to be/it's meant for me：是你的總是你的
