省略號主要用兩種用途：

1. 表示省略。如：

Peel some oranges, bananas ...剝一些桔子、香蕉……

2. 表示遲疑或猶豫。如：

He said hesitatingly, 'I  ... I  ...  I  ...  don't  ...  like it.' 他遲疑地說，“我……我……我不……喜歡它。”

撇號主要有以下用法：

1. 表示單詞中的省略。如：

Don't write on the wall. 不要在墻上寫字。

I've learned English for 3 years. 我已經(jīng)學了三年英語。

2. 用于名詞所有格。如：

That is James's sister. 那是詹姆士的妹妹。

The girls' clothes are in the locker. 女孩子們的衣服在立柜里。

3. 表示數(shù)學、符號、字母或詞形本身的復數(shù)。如：

He got many A's during this final exam. 他在期末考試中得了很多 A。
