Listed below is the basic information you will need to get started. What is the HSK? HSK, Hànyǔ shuǐpíng kǎoshì, is an official Chinese language proficiency test. It consists of 6 levels of written tests and 3 levels of oral tests. The written tests and the oral tests are conducted independently from each other. The test is essential if you plan on studying in a Chinese university. The Written test HSK consists of 6 levels of written tests, from Level 1 to 6 in correspondence to level A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
