Job Description
HP Labs China offers research positions in Beijing, China. We are looking for
recent graduates or experienced researchers who are interested in a research c
areer in China with the opportunity of interacting with HP Labs researchers wo
rldwide.  We are inviting innovative individuals who love to solve real world
problems and strive to make an impact in the industry to join our team. We are
presently looking for researchers with some of the following expertise: advan
ced databases, large scale data warehousing and information management, busine
ss intelligence, data mining, content management, optimization and algorithms,
parallel and distributed information management, clustered computing and file
systems, workflow technologies, web services and web 2.0 applications, and so
ftware development.

Qualified candidates should have strong system research and development skills
, experience in software development language and tools, and in-depth knowledg
e of computer algorithms and data structure; they should be strongly result-dr
iven, and fluent in both English and Chinese.

Qualifications
Education
Master‘s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (
e.g. information technology, computer engineering, applied mathematics)

Experience, knowledge and skill
1. Experience in software system research and development; ability to conduct
independent research and to participate in research teams.
2. Experience with system development, and experience in developing technologi
es into a product is a plus.
3. Experience and knowledge in one of the following areas; advanced databases,
large scale data warehousing and information management, business intelligenc
e, data mining, content management, optimization and algorithms, parallel and
distributed information management, clustered computing and file systems, work
flow technologies, web services and web 2.0 applications, and software develop
ment.
4. Fluent with software development language and tools; programming languages
such as Java, C/C++; scripting language such as Perl, UNIX shell, python; tool
s such as Eclipse and CVS; familiar with web services or service-oriented arch
itecture development and integration such as J2EE, SOAP, or WSDL; user interfa
ce design experience; knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle,
MS SQL).
5. In-depth knowledge of computer algorithms and data structure.
6. Commitment, self-motivated, and result-driven.
7. Fluency in English and Chinese

pu architecture, ASM, and performance optimization, artificial intelligence, m
achine learning, and image processing/understanding.
7.      Commitment, self-motivated, and result-driven.
8.      Fluency in English and Chinese
